On October 10-11, 2015, the first world Marxist Congress was held in Peking University, attended by more than 400 Chinese and foreign scholars from five continents. The theme of this Congress is "Marxism and human development". It aims to face up to the complex problems facing human society, study and share Chinese experience, promote the exchange, dissemination and development of Marxism in the world, and promote the progress of world civilization and the construction of human life community. In addition to inviting famous Chinese and foreign scholars to make keynote speeches, the conference also set up eight sub forums and three keynote speeches and high-end dialogues of famous Chinese and foreign scholars. At the closing ceremony of the conference on the afternoon of November 11, the "consensus of scholars of the World Congress of Marxism" was released as the theoretical results of the conference. Professor Hong Xiaonan, Dean of the school of Marxism of our university, and Professor Xu Chengfang, vice president, were invited to attend the first world Marxism conference, and read out papers and participated in the discussion on the forum of "China's road and China's discourse system" and "Marxism and the community of human destiny".
The title of Professor Hong Xiaonan's paper is "peaceful power and China's peaceful development road" (this paper is a phased achievement of the key project of National Social Science Fund "Research on Solidly Promoting the construction of a socialist cultural power 13azd016"). This paper studies the background of the theory of harmony strength, reveals that the theoretical basis of harmony strength is harmony learning, and analyzes the possibility and necessity of the concept and theory of harmony strength. On this basis, it answers why China will not follow the western countries' so-called "national power will dominate", and the specific reason why China follows the path of peaceful development: the long-standing "culture of peace" determines that China's path is the path of peaceful development, and the concept of "peaceful power" shows China's determination of peaceful development. The value orientation of "peaceful power" determines that China must follow the path of peaceful development and realize "three surmounts". Finally, peaceful development is determined by the nature of socialism.
Professor Xu Chengfang's thesis title is "the salvation of Marxism and the community of shared future of mankind" (this paper is a phased achievement of the National Social Science Foundation Project "insisting on the guiding position of Marxism in the field of ideology in China, in-depth research 09bks039"). The main contents are as follows: Marxism's Thoughts on the Communist society and the free people's Union, because of its loftiness, harmony, thoroughness, universality and leading, provide great wisdom and fundamental solutions for saving the community of human destiny, from which all mankind can draw nutrition. Since Marxism changed socialism from Utopia to science, the negative effects of capitalism have been resisted by higher ideological systems and social movements. The community of shared future of mankind has begun to show another unprecedented bright prospect. The common pursuit of democracy, freedom and human rights has been better guaranteed.
