Ms. Marilyn Levin (Chinese Name: Lin Rulian), vice president of central Washington University, made an academic report in classroom 203 of the teaching building from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. on October 18, 2011, entitled "Chinese labor groups during World War I: prelude to political and Cultural Activism".
Ms. Marilyn Levin taught her research results in fluent Chinese and English, and answered the students' questions. She pointed out that at the beginning of the 20th century, the Chinese working groups in Europe played an important role in China's May 4th Movement and the establishment of the Communist Party. She particularly stressed that contemporary Chinese youth should study the modern history of China, and thanks to the early revolutionary efforts of the Communist Party of China and the Kuomintang. Otherwise, we may still live in a country ruled by warlords. We can't sit in the university classroom and have such good study conditions as we do now.
After the meeting, the Central University of Washington also introduced the general situation of the University and welcomed students to study and continue exchanges.
The event was jointly organized by the international exchange office, the Ministry of Humanities and the school of Marxism. Vice president Wang Guoyu presided over the report and vice president Xu Chengfang attended the meeting.
